Little bill will have a big impact

Governor Inslee signed HB 2700 sponsored by Rep. Monica Stonier of Vancouver on Friday, creating breast cancer awareness license plates for Washington drivers. Washington ranks in the top 25 percent for cancer rates in the U.S. and is sixth highest for female breast cancer rates. The American Cancer Society estimates over 38,000 new cases will be diagnosed in Washington this year. The new license plate will feature the Pink Ribbon and will cost $40 per plate. Stonier cancer license plate bill approved by the Senate

The state House of Representatives approved HB 2700 sponsored by Rep. Another round of education bills were approved by the House of Representatives on Tuesday, the final day to consider House policy bills during the 2014 legislative session.
