Kilduff hosts town hall meeting on the economy and education

LAKEWOOD—The health of our economy is interwoven with the strength of our public schools and universities, says Rep. Christine Kilduff (D-University Place), who’s hosting a town hall meeting about the twin topics on Oct. 3.

“Back when Washington became a state, the economy was based on farming,” Kilduff said. “When my grandparents came over from Ireland, it was based on factories and horsepower. Today, our economy is based on brainpower—and just like every other parent, I want my two daughters to prosper by having a great education.”

Here are the details on the event:
10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 3
Student Services Center, Clover Park School District
10903 Gravelly Lake Drive SW, Lakewood

For parents, teachers, business leaders and citizens interested in these issues, but can’t make the event, Kilduff said she would still love to hear their stories and ideas.
