As work builds before the 2013 legislative session, Rep. Jeff Morris (D-Mount Vernon) has hired Meagan Sharp to work with him as his legislative assistant. Ms. Sharp replaces Rita Sullivan who recently retired.

“I’m very pleased to have Meagan working for my office and the district,” said Morris. “She’s very dedicated and has a passion for helping others.”

In her new role, Ms. Sharp will coordinate their legislative office and facilitate communication with constituents.

Sharp graduated from the University of Washington in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. She worked briefly as a Legislative Assistant for former Representative Deb Wallace. Most recently, Ms. Sharp spent the last two years serving as a former Peace Corps volunteer in Mozambique educating and mentoring girls and young women.

With the hiring of Ms. Sharp, Morris’ legislative office has officially moved to Olympia in preparation for the 2013 legislative session. To schedule a meeting with Rep. Morris, contact Meagan at 360-786-7970.

The regular legislative session for 2013 starts on January 14, 2013 and will continue for 105 days.

“We’re here to represent and serve you,” said Morris. “We want to hear your thoughts and ideas on issues you care about. Give us a call, shoot us an email, or find me on Twitter @TheRostrum to get in touch with us.”
