Biography

Democrat: Representative from the 38th Legislative District, which includes the Tulalip, Marysville and Everett communities of Snohomish County. John served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring in 1981 with extensive training in computer operations and programming. He worked as a computer technician in the White House from 1982 to 1985. John is active with the United Way, the Native American advisory boards for the National and Snohomish County Boys and Girls clubs, and the advisory board for Cascade Land Conservancy. John and Jeannie McCoy were married in 1965, and they have three daughters and nine grandchildren.

PERSONAL:

EMPLOYMENT:
Worked as a computer technician in the White House from 1982 to 1985. Currently is the General Manager, Quil Ceda Village Business Park.

GOVERNMENT SERVICE:
Representative from the 38th Legislative District, which includes the communities of Tulalip, Marysville and Everett, as well as the surrounding region of Snohomish County. Is the Chair of the National Caucus of Native American State Legislators. Services as a member on the NCSL Environmental Management Roundtable.  

MILITARY SERVICE:
Twenty-year United States Air Force veteran, retired in 1981 with extensive training in computer operations and programming.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES:
Active with the United Way, the Native American Advisory Board for the National Boys and Girls clubs, and the Snohomish County Boys and Girls clubs.
