getting more informed and involved in your democracy.
Our state has a history of promoting citizen-activism . The state constitution
set up the Legislature as a part-time body of citizen-lawmakers with real jobs
-- in my day job, I'm a firefighter -- instead of a full-time Legislature of
professional politicians.
The same is true throughout our state with citizens serving on school boards and
city councils. I got my start in politics by serving on the Covington City
Council.
Today, I'm focusing on three issues important to the 47th District:
