2007 Committees
Higher Education - Chair
The House Higher Education Committee considers issues relating to
the state's public and independent baccalaureate colleges and
universities, public community and technical colleges, and private
career schools. Issues include governance and coordination of higher
education, financial aid, tuition, distance learning, and the licensing
of private colleges and career schools.
Appropriations Subcommittee on Education
The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Education considers issues
relating to funding of early learning, K-12, and higher education
programs and agencies and makes funding recommendations to the
Appropriations Committee.
Transportation
The House Transportation Committee considers the transportation
budget, revenue sources for transportation funding, and issues relating
to transportation policy and transportation agencies, including the
Department of Transportation and the Washington State Patrol.
Other committees
Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee
Carries out independent performance audits,
program evaluations, sunset reviews, and other policy and fiscal studies
on behalf of the Legislature and the citizens of Washington State. (Link

Transportation Performance
Audit Board
Helps better understand how the State’s
transportation agencies are performing through the use of
performance
measure reviews and performance audits. The Legislature wants to
know that scarce tax dollars are being used efficiently, effectively,
and intended results are being achieved.
