Committee changes this biennium include:

Eliminating three committees:

  • The Appropriations Subcommittee on Education
  • The Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government
  • The Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services

Adding two committees:

  • The Commerce and Gaming Committee (with jurisdiction over alcohol, tobacco and cannabis sales, and gambling)
  • The General Government and Information Technology Committee (which considers state government audits and information technology projects; reviews general government, natural resources and corrections budgets; and considers fiscal bills with limited impact in these issue areas)

Renaming two committees:

  • The Labor and Workforce Development Committee was renamed the Labor Committee.
  • The Government Operations and Elections Committee was renamed State Government.

The issues previously handled by the Government Accountability and Oversight Committee will go to the General Government and Information Technology Committee or the Commerce and Gaming Committee.
