Here’s an excerpt from the WSDOT news release:

Drivers who use State Route 520 to reach Seattle should plan ahead for overnight closures of the floating bridge and highway on designated Tuesday and Thursday nights during the rest of September and into October.

The first of a series of night-time closures of the westbound SR 520 lanes will begin Thursday, Sept. 19. Westbound lanes will close from 92nd Avenue Northeast in Bellevue to Montlake Boulevard in Seattle. The overnight closures will ensure continued progress on the SR 520 bridge replacement, while keeping the highway open during the busy weekday commute and for weekend travel to cultural and sporting events.

During the closures, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will continue building new column foundations for the West Connection Bridge. Crews will deliver more than 25 truckloads of concrete per night – an estimated 260 cubic yards – to the west end of the existing SR 520 bridge. Workers will pump the concrete from the existing SR 520 roadway, across barges, and into column shafts positioned in Lake Washington.
