Chris has spent the last eight years working as a finance administrator for the community and technical college system. Prior to that, he worked for the Senate Transportation Committee for three years as a budget analyst reviewing policy legislation and budgets related to the Department of Licensing and the Washington State Ferry System. Chris was also responsible for budgeting transportation fee and tax revenue in support of Senate Transportation budget proposals.A former classroom teacher, school board member and city of Tumwater Planning Commissioner, Chris is passionate about public education, community development, and sustainable transportation practices. His formal education in public sector finance and performance measurement has him deeply focused on long-term tax reform to adequately fund core public service.

Chris grew up in Snohomish, earned his baccalaureate degree in social studies with a teaching certificate from Washington State University and a masters degree in public administration (MPA) from the School of Government at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.

Chris and his wife, Kim (a school counselor), have two children; Carter age 7, and Kennedy age 5. They reside in Historic Tumwater, Washington.

Chris serves as Vice Chair of the Labor & Workforce Development committee, as well as a member of the Finance, Higher Education, and Rules committees.
