Rep. Kristine Lytton’s Biography

Now in her second term in the Washington State Legislature, Representative Kristine Lytton represents the 40^th legislative district, which includes San Juan County and parts of Skagit and Whatcom Counties. She serves as the vice chair of the House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee and is a member of the Education Committee and Finance Committee.

Kristine is passionate about education issues, having served two terms on the Anacortes School Board prior to joining the state Legislature. Her in-depth knowledge and focus on finding the best solutions for the children of our state have earned her a reputation as a leader on education in Olympia.

In addition to her committee work, Kristine serves as the Assistant Majority Floor Leader. In this role, she works with the Majority Floor Leader and the Speaker of the House to manage the floor calendar and the structure of the floor debate.

Kristine and her husband, Mike, live in Anacortes. They have two sons, one at Oregon State University and one at Western Washington University.
