Get a CLEW – and help the planet!

After meeting several times in Olympia in recent months, the Climate Legislative Executive Workgroup – a project close to Gov. Inslee’s heart – hits the road for public hearings across the state.

The first CLEW hearing is Wednesday evening, Oct. 16, in Spokane. Additional hearings are scheduled for Oct. 23 in Seattle and Dec. 6 in Olympia.

CLEW was established by the Legislature this year in Senate Bill 5802, which the governor pushed for as part of his commitment to environmental protection. The workgroup is charged with developing recommendations to the Legislature for meeting the greenhouse gas emissions goals established in state law. Inslee serves on the workgroup along with Democratic and Republican members of the House and Senate.

The group’s Oct. 14 meeting was covered in an article in The Olympian newspaper.
