WSU Med School bills pass crucial first test with broad bipartisan support

OLYMPIA—After receiving broad bipartisan support with 65 co-sponsors in the House and 17 co-sponsors in the Senate, legislation paving the way for a Washington State University medical school has passed its first major hurdle  in the state House and Senate. Bright Futures autism screening legislation introduced

OLYMPIA — All infants and toddlers would receive the recommended autism screenings to identify developmental issues and disabilities, under legislation proposed by Rep. Marcus Riccelli, D-Spokane, and Sen. David Frockt, D-Seattle. Currently, all private insurance plans in Washington cover screenings for autism and other developmental disabilities for infants and toddlers, as these screenings are part of the nationally recognized standard of well child care. Spokane lawmakers introduce WSU med-school bill with broad bipartisan support

For Release: Jan 21, 2015 OLYMPIA—Spokane lawmakers Michael Baumgartner and Marcus Riccelli introduced bills Wednesday that pave the way for a new Washington State University medical school in Spokane, with broad bipartisan co-sponsorship demonstrating deep support in the House and Senate. Senate Bill 5487, sponsored by Sen. Baumgartner, R-Spokane, has a total 17 signatures. The measure sponsored by Rep. Riccelli, D-Spokane, House Bill 1559, has a total 60 signatures.
