Lake Wenatchee: Washington State Parks

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission has designated Monday, August 25 as a state parks ‘free day’ to celebrate the National Park Service’s birthday, established on August 25, 1916.

In keeping with the Discover Pass legislation passed in 2011, State Parks can designate up to 12 ‘free days’ each year. Day-use visitors do not need a Discover Pass to visit state parks on these free days.

Washington State Parks will have two more ‘free days’ in 2014: Sept. 27, in recognition of National Public Lands Day and Nov. 11, in honor of Veterans Day.
