Open enrollment for GET ends Saturday

It’s never too early to start planning and saving for a child’s college education. Washington state has a program to help families save money for their child’s future – the Washington State Guaranteed Education Tuition (GET) program.

With the GET program, families purchase “units” that can be used for higher education expenses down the road. It’s like paying for a future college education at today’s prices.

Because the units are already purchased, the tuition and fees are covered (up to UW or WSU prices) regardless of the actual tuition and fee costs in the future. (Read more here on how GET works.)

Over 34,000 students have used their accounts to attend colleges, universities, and technical schools across the country.

The current GET unit price is $172. Open enrollment for this price ends tomorrow and will re-open in the fall with a new unit price. You can enroll online here. And if you enroll by midnight tomorrow, GET will waive the $50-$100 application fee.
