OLYMPIA — In the aftermath of the recent federal shutdown, Washington state lawmakers Beth Doglio (D-Olympia) and Kristine Reeves (D-Federal Way) will join hunger-relief partners to highlight the work ahead to strengthen statewide food-security coordination, preserve farmers and farming systems in Washington, support food-donation structures, and protect Washingtonians from the impacts of federal uncertainty. Legislators will discuss current food-security conditions and upcoming state policy efforts—including food-donation, waste-reduction, and agricultural supply-chain legislation—designed to ensure communities remain supported even when federal programs stall or fluctuate.
