Statement by Rep. Steve Tharinger (D-Port Townsend), chair of the House Capital Budget Committee:
It has been a honor to serve the good people of the 24th Legislative District for the last 16 years.
After eight terms in the House of Representatives, I have decided not to seek a ninth term.
The 24th District has been served by many good legislators, and I’m proud of the work we did together—creating jobs, improving health care, and building infrastructure that will serve the people of Washington for generations.
I know my seatmates, and fellow lawmakers, will continue that good work.
