While ICE has refrained from more Minneapolis-style surges, the agency began ramping up activity again in the spring and in recent months has arrested more people in Washington and nationwide than at any point in the last three years, according to figures released this week by the Deportation Data Project. WA issues notice of 35 violations to Nippon after May chemical spill
The release describes most of the violations as relating to the environmental impacts from the hundreds of thousands of gallons of highly caustic white liquor that spread across the paper mill that made laminated paperboard used for liquid packaging. Other violations, however, describe deficiencies in plans and training related to laws focused on dangerous waste.
