Mini Town Hall

In addition to a traditional style town hall, Rep. Steve Bergquist and I will once again be hosting mini town halls around the district.

If you’ve been to a regular town hall meeting, you know it’s hard for us to connect with people individually to answer their questions. That’s why mini town halls are great. They are all about having real conversations with community members one on one, or in small groups. Each person who wants to participate can sign up for a 15-minute time slot. During that time, you have the chance to ask questions, comment on legislation, and tell us about your ideas to make Washington a better place for everyone.

How to sign up: Please email my legislative aide, Taylor Rome, at Taylor.Rome@leg.wa.gov or call the office at 360-786-7956 and we’ll set a time that works for you. If you have a specific issue or topic you want to talk about, please share that with Taylor so we can make the most of our time together.

If you are unable to make any of these events, but still want to connect, please contact me at Zack.Hudgins@leg.wa.gov.

Helping college students experiencing homelessness

Washington is experiencing a statewide homelessness and housing affordability crisis. It’s hurting too many people in our community, including students trying to achieve higher education. Last week, legislation (House Bill 1278) I sponsored to help college students experiencing homelessness get some help passed off floor with bipartisan support. It now moves to the Senate. Read more in my op-ed that I wrote with homeless student advocate, Charles Adkins in the Renton Reporter.
