Rep. Strom Peterson, 21st LD, talks about the ways constituents can connect with the legislature and participate in the process this session. He shared that hearing remote testimony in the Housing, Human Services & Veterans Committee, which he chairs, from a number of veterans who would have not been able to go to Olympia under normal circumstances was moving, particularly because the issue was preventing suicides among veterans. He also provided information on two of his bills: HB 1312, on solitary confinement, and HB 1223, on custodial interrogations.
