Take My District Survey!

Dear friends and neighbors,

As we head into the 2026 legislative session, I want to take a moment to check in with you and share what I’ve been working on, what I’m bringing with me into Olympia, and most importantly, to hear directly from you before the gavel drops.

What I’ve been working on — and what’s ahead this session

Over the interim, I’ve been focused on practical, values-driven solutions that reflect what I hear from families across Federal Way and Auburn: the cost of living is too high, our kids deserve better support, and our systems should work for people.

Here are a few of the priorities I’ll be advancing in the 2026 session:

📚 Education

  • A bill to better support Federal Way and Auburn schools and ensure resources are reaching the students who need them most
  • Expanding our definition of basic education to include childcare and early learning, because families can’t thrive without affordable, reliable care

🥦 Cost of Living, Food Security & Economic Fairness

  • Legislation to strengthen food banks, support local agriculture, and address the rising cost of groceries.

  • Protecting workers and patients by closing unfair healthcare tax breaks for large corporations and reinvesting those dollars into Medicaid and community health.

  • Supporting seniors in independent living facilities through HB 1542 and HB 2299, which provide protections and ensure quality care.

🌱 Environment & Climate

  • Advancing a textile extended producer responsibility (EPR) program to reduce waste and pollution
  • Supporting ecosystem services that protect our natural resources while benefiting local communities

🚭 Youth Health

  • Continued efforts to prevent youth tobacco and vape use, keeping our kids healthy and safe.
  • I also sponsored HB 2400, which would regulate social media business practices to protect children from being monetized online.

🔥 Agriculture & Wildfire Preparedness

  • Creating a wildfire liability fund to better protect farmers, landowners, and rural communities

You’ll be hearing more about these issues over the course of session!
