Reminder: Telephone Town Hall TONIGHT and a note on Transportation Budget

48th Legislative District Telephone Town Hall on Tuesday, April 2, at 6 pm

Don’t forget our telephone town hall tonight. Sen. Patty Kuderer, Rep. Amy Walen, and I are looking forward to taking your questions.

Calls will go out to many landlines in our district, inviting constituents to stay on the line to participate in the telephone town hall.

If you don’t have a landline or you simply don’t get the call, you can still join us in a variety of ways:

DIAL IN: Dial 877-229-8493 and enter code 116362 when prompted.

VEKEO CHANNEL: To ensure you do get the call, go to and sign up now to be called when the event begins. You can also opt-in to upcoming events and listen to previously held events you may have missed.

The Vekeo opt-ins closes approximately three hours before the event starts, so if you want to use this method to get the call, make sure you sign up before 3 pm.

AUDIO STREAMING: If you were not able to sign up on Vekeo and you can’t dial in to join the call, it’s not too late. You can still participate by clicking here where you can listen online and even submit questions live.

A note on the Transportation Budget

More milestones!  We passed the transportation and operating budgets out of the House on Friday and will bring the capital budget up for a vote on the Floor this week.

As second vice chair of the Transportation Committee, I worked closely with Chair Jake Fey, vice chairs and ranking members, as well as all the members of the committee.  We worked together to set priorities and support decision-making.  The need for all of us to get around safely and efficiently creates a lot of common ground.  I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with representatives from both sides of the aisle who care deeply about how transportation affects the lives of their constituents and work hard to make a difference.  This shared understanding was also evident in the final bipartisan vote of 90-5.

I am also grateful for the outstanding committee staff. They are talented, knowledgeable, non-partisan professionals who work very long hours preparing each part of the budget to make sure it all makes sense in the end.

Serving in a fiscal committee was new to me, but it’s been an extraordinary experience!

Thank you for your continued interest in what we’re doing in Olympia, I hope you’ll join the call this evening!
