Biography

Emily Wicks was born and raised in the 38th Legislative District and currently serves as a State Representative in the Washington State Legislature.

Emily began a career in government affairs and communications in 2008 and went on to work as a deputy finance director for the campaign to elect Washington Governor Jay Inslee.

She also served as a legislative aide to then State Representative and current Washington Lieutenant Governor Cyrus Habib, and as the communications and community relations coordinator for the Marysville School District.

In 2019, Emily founded a small business that is a co-working, retail and membership organization prioritizing the needs of working women and their families.

Emily is a graduate of Washington State University with bachelor’s degrees in political science and public relations. She serves as President of the National Women’s Political Caucus of Washington. She is also on the board of the Marysville YMCA and the Marysville School District Foundation.

Emily lives in Everett with her partner James “Bubba” Day and loves political strategy, her high school alma mater Marysville Pilchuck, Mariner’s baseball, the Cougs, and the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
