State Representative Eileen Cody (D-West Seattle) will attend the first ever Addiction Recovery Advocacy Day this Tuesday, January 26. She will speak with members of the addiction recovery community on the importance of Ricky’s Law (HB 1713) which she has prime sponsored. Ricky’s Law would allow those suffering from substance abuse to get life-saving care they need via involuntary commitment, which is currently offered to those suffering from mental health crises but not substance abuse disorders.
Members of the media are encouraged to attend to hear from community members at the event.
