Welcome.

I’m glad to see you are one of our citizens who uses the Internet to check up on me and track our legislature.  I’m always interested in expanding the ways these new technologies can help keep our democracy fresh by allowing you to easily see what’s in the budget or in a proposed bill so you can weigh in personally.

At its heart, a healthy democracy is an open dialogue. As we struggle to recover from this severe recession we need that dialog more than ever.  I’m especially looking for new ideas – including the good ‘new’ ideas proven to work in past crises.

We do have a crisis.  But it is far more than a crisis of how to make more deep cuts in state spending.  In my view we should see this as an opportunity to rethink the basics of state government:   What are we trying to achieve with our education system?  What level of public health do we need?  Are the programs we’ve built over the years working well – or do some of them need an overhaul?  I welcome your ideas for practical, concrete improvements.

You can reach me by e-mail, regular mail or the toll free Hotline (800-562-6000). I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Rep. Larry Seaquist
