Rep. Jim Moeller was re-elected Speaker Pro Tempore-designate on Saturday by his Democratic colleagues in the Washington State House of Representatives.
“I’m pleased to have earned the trust and faith of my colleagues,” Rep. Moeller said. “We have an amazing leadership team that sticks together and strives to pass legislation that serves all Washington residents. I am excited to continue to be a part of that effort and look forward to working with all of my colleagues to continue to improve the lives of Washington families.”
This will be Rep. Moeller’s third term as Speaker Pro Tempore. Rep. Moeller has served six terms in the House, representing the 49th Legislative District. He is lifelong resident of Vancouver and served 2 terms on the Vancouver City Council.
He currently serves on the Health Care and Wellness Committee, Labor and Workforce Development Committee, Rules Committee, and the Transportation Committee.
The Speaker Pro Tempore-designate must be elected by the entire body of the House of Representatives on the first day of the 2015 session.
