Washington State Patrol Trooper Tony Radulescu was shot and killed early Thursday during what may have seemed to be a routine traffic stop on Highway 16 in Kitsap County. Following is a statement by Rep. Judy Clibborn, Chair of the House Transportation Committee.
My heart goes out to the family, friends and colleagues of Trooper Tony Radulescu. His death at what must have seemed a routine traffic stop is a heartbreaking reminder that the men and women who serve in the Washington State Patrol risk their lives for us every single day. Every traffic stop can be their last, but they face this danger willingly and bravely to keep the rest of us safe.
Trooper Tony Radulescu is a fallen hero. I hope we remember his heroism, and the constant courage of everyone who serves in the Washington State Patrol, every time we remember and honor the name of Trooper Tony Radulescu.
