Rep. Senn appointed to three committees

State Rep. Tana Senn has been appointed to positions on the Early Learning & Human Services Committee, Capital Budget Committee and Environment Committee, This is the lineup Senn pursued after her appointment to the House of Representatives earlier this year.

“These three House committees are a great fit for our region,” said Senn, whose 41st Legislative District comprises all or parts of Beaux Arts Village, Bellevue, Issaquah, Mercer Island, Newcastle, Renton, and Sammamish.

Senn noted that the committee assignments reflect core values in her decision to seek legislative office. “My placement on these committees will allow me to focus on improving the lives of families in the 41st Legislative District and across the state,” she explained.

“Ensuring our children get the healthiest possible start in their educations is of critical importance,” Senn said.  “Combined with fiscally sound state investments in schools, low-income housing and cultural institutions, our families and communities will see benefits for years to come.”

Referring to the Environment Committee, Senn continued, “In our state with such beautiful natural surroundings, we need to enjoy our environment even as we manage it responsibly for use by generations to come.”

Representative Senn was appointed to the House in September by a unanimous vote of the King County Council. The new lawmaker’s professional career and volunteer interests include working in the community with the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, Mercer Island Youth and Family Services Foundation, and local public schools to name a few.
