HOUSE DEMOCRATS

Statement by Rep. Drew Hansen, D-Bainbridge Island, on today’s official publication in the Federal Register of the Federal Communications Commission’s reversal of net neutrality rules

“Today the FCC took the official step of publishing in the Federal Register its decision to repeal net neutrality rules. Doing so continues to move this bad decision forward at the federal level, but here in Washington state my bill to protect a free and open internet is moving forward as well. House Bill 2282 passed the House this month with strong bipartisan support, and is expected to be voted out of committee in the Senate this week. I look forward to it passing the full Senate, being signed by the governor, and safeguarding net neutrality for Washington consumers.”
