WHY
Students need to be safe in schools, and they need to feel safe in schools. As the gun violence public health crisis continues in America and our schools, lawmakers in Olympia are working on several policies focused on improving student behavioral health, reducing gun violence, and investing in additional school safety supports.

The media availability will be held today, January 29 at 12:30 in House Hearing Room A. Alissa Parker and Dr. Eric Madfis will be featured speakers at a work session on school safety in the House Education Committee at 3:30 in the same hearing room. Vice chair Rep. Laurie Dolan will serve as committee chair for the school safety work session.
