Alpha Kappa Alpha Incorporated is the nation’s oldest Black sorority. It was founded 113 years ago this month at Howard University in Washington, DC. Kamala Harris joined in 1986. Juneteenth bill would ‘acknowledge the atrocity of slavery’
f you don’t know what Juneteenth is, you’re not alone. And that’s the problem. “I thought, when I came to Washington, it was celebrated everywhere. I came to Washington in 1970, and I found that Juneteenth was not celebrated everywhere. People have not heard of it,” explained Democratic Rep.
