Senate Bill 5038: Prohibiting open carry at demonstrations
”Senate Bill 50-38 would prohibit the open carry of certain weapons at public demonstrations and the state capitol. The bill would make it so it would be against the law for any person to knowingly open carry a firearm or other weapons like knives or brass knuckles while participating in or attending any demonstration being held at a public place.’ Continue reading at KEPR.

State bill seeks independent investigations of police uses of deadly force
State Rep. Debra Entenman, D-Kent, introduced legislation in Olympia to mandate the independent investigation of deadly uses of force, custodial deaths and other officer-involved incidents. The legislation was requested by Gov. Jay Inslee and is based on recommendations made by the Governor’s Task Force on Independent Investigations of Police Use of Force, according to a Jan. 21 House Democrats news release.
