Our students in our public schools need to be prepared to enter both a 4-year university and the workforce. We still have a great deal of work to do in order to ensure students have access to strong career and technical education programs and apprenticeships.

This is crucial for our skilled workforce and our graduation rates. I introduced a bill, HB 1509, that would alleviate some of the challenges we face with the Core 24 graduation requirements.

Not being a person who gives up easily, and recognizing the considerable bipartisan support, I will continue working on this policy in the form of an amendment to other bills along the way.
