OLYMPIA—This Wednesday, March 28, state Representatives Steve Tharinger (D – Dungeness) and Kevin Van De Wege (D – Sequim) will host a live telephone town hall meeting for constituents in the 24th Legislative District. Households in the district should receive a phone call at around 6:00 p.m. that evening, inviting them to participate in the event.
Telephone town halls utilize the latest technology to enable thousands of participants to be on the call at the same time, and speak directly to their elected representatives. It is an opportunity to ask questions and share comments or concerns about issues before the Washington State Legislature. The event is live, not a pre-recorded session. Reps. Tharinger and Van De Wege will take live questions throughout the call and speak directly with the constituents who ask them.
Those who do not receive a call but still want to participate can dial the toll-free inbound participant number, 1-877-229-8493, and enter PIN code No. 18646 when prompted. This number will be active during the call only.
Both Tharinger and Van De Wege have also held in-person town hall events this year throughout the 24th Legislative District. On February 1, both representatives were at Montesano High School in Grays Harbor County. On February 17, Rep. Tharinger hosted a town hall in Quilcene, while Rep. Van De Wege held one that same evening in Forks. The following day, both representatives hosted a mid-morning town hall in Port Angeles.
