Last week, Rep. Marcus Riccelli was joined by Republican State Senator Michael Baumgartner to announce a bi-partisan proposal to create a brand new medical school in Spokane, operated by Washington State University. Washington selected for pilot program to increase locally-grown produce in school meals

The USDA announced today that Washington is one of eight states selected to participate in a pilot program designed to allow states to purchase unprocessed fruits and vegetables directly from vendors, growers, and other distributors, increasing flexibility for schools to buy locally-grown produce. Spokane legislators to hold press conference supporting WSU medical school

Sen. Michael Baumgartner, R-Spokane, and Rep. Marcus Riccelli, D-Spokane, will hold a press conference on Tue., Dec. 2, to announce their bipartisan support for Washington State University’s proposed medical school in Spokane.
