It’s an honor to work for my friends and neighbors in the heart of Spokane. The current legislative session is one of the most crucial in a generation or more, as we try to fashion a responsible and sustainable state budget that fully funds K-12 education — and begins to rebuild our tattered social safety net, which has been stretched to the breaking point since the onset of the Great Recession in 2008.

Both chambers of the Washington state legislature passed a transportation budget for the 2013-15 biennium today.
