OLYMPIA – With the 2011 legislative session at its halfway mark, lawmakers are going home for a day to hear what’s on the minds of their constituents. Sen. Phil Rockefeller, D-Bainbridge Island, Rep. Sherry Appleton, D-Poulsbo, and Rep. Christine Rolfes, D-Bainbridge Island, will hold community forums in Bremerton and Poulsbo on March 12.
As the Legislature addresses a shortfall of more than $4 billion in the state operating budget, the three lawmakers expect budgetary and economic issues to dominate the discussions. Other topics could include ferry service, public safety, environmental protection, education, health care and more. The events are free and open to the general public.
