State to offer grants to small businesses to weather COVID-19 ‘storm’
Washington will offer grants to small businesses with as many as 10 employees to help them “weather the storm” of the COVID-19 pandemic, Gov. Jay Inslee said Tuesday. The Working Washington Small Business Emergency Grants, to help with rent or other expenses, will be limited to $10,000 for a business, and the total, which comes from the Governor’s Strategic Reserve Fund, is currently limited to $5 million at this point. Inslee: Special session likely because of virus outbreak
The state Legislature may be called back for a special session because of the coronavirus outbreak, Gov. Jay Inslee said Tuesday. The Legislature isn’t scheduled to return until next January, but Inslee said it was probable legislators may need to return, “given the extent of the economic damage that we have suffered.” Continue reading at The Peninsula Daily News.
