Washington state reports highest ever single-day total of COVID-19 cases on Wednesday
The Washington State Department of Health on Wednesday reported 1,469 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 16 new deaths. The mark is the highest single-day total since the pandemic began, surpassing the previous high of 1,056 on July 6. Continue reading at The Olympian.

Ballots still being counted
A tumultuous election night yielded no definitive result between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden, with both candidates locked in razor-thin races in a slate of battleground states that were expected to continue tallying votes, perhaps for days. Contests in North Carolina, Georgia and Pennsylvaniawere all uncalled as of presstime Wednesday, with officials scrambling to count both ballots cast Nov. 3 and a surge of ballots sent through the mail.
