You’re invited to coffee chats with me in Port Angeles and Sequim!

Dear neighbors,

I had a great time chatting with the community members who came to my first coffee chat in Port Townsend.

Whenever I meet people, I learn something. Your stories, ideas, and comments help me advocate for our district, whether it’s a reform needed in our state laws or a project in the transportation or capital budgets.

I’m holding two more coffee chats in August and September.

Port Angeles—10 a.m. to noon, August 13, Bella Rosa Coffee House, 403. S. Lincoln Street

Sequim—10 a.m. to noon, Sept. 2, Rainshadow Cafe, 157 W. Cedar Street

These are informal events. There’s no microphone, no agenda, no PowerPoint slide shows.

It’s you, me, and coffee (or tea, if that’s what you like). This kind of event lets everyone share their thoughts, while a town hall with 100 people or more doesn’t have enough time for everyone to speak out. And some folks are too shy to take the microphone in front of big crowds.

If you can’t make either coffee chat, but have something to share, please reach out to me by email (adam.bernbaum@leg.wa.gov) or the toll-free Hotline (800-562-6000). Hearing from you is important to me.

I hope you have the time to stop by and chat with me. I hope to hear your story or your idea to fix a problem. And I hope that by listening to each other, and working together, we can solve some of our common problems and make the 24th District a better place to work and raise a family.
