Dear neighbors,
Thank you to everyone who joined our 24th District telephone town hall! It was my pleasure to answer your questions and hear your thoughts.
This is a critical time in the legislative session. We are voting on Senate bills while that chamber decides the fate of House bills, and each chamber is putting forth proposals on the three budgets.
You can find details about the operating and transportation budgets proposed by the House and Senate at the nonpartisan site fiscal.wa.gov.
What’s next
The House passed the operating budget late Monday night, and we will pass the transportation budget next. After that, our budget teams will negotiate final difference between all three budgets—operating, transportation, and capital.
This usually happens on the last day of session, which is April 27 this year.
As vice chair of transportation, and seatmate to the Capital Budget chair, I’ve been keeping close track of what’s happening and how it will affect all of us back home in the 24th District.
