OLYMPIA – Local lawmaker Rep. Tami Green (D-Lakewood) was chosen today by the House Democratic Caucus to serve as Majority Floor Leader.
Green has served as the Deputy Majority Floor Leader for the past two years, and this year she will begin her fourth two-year term in the House of Representatives.
In Green’s new leadership role, she will coordinate the day’s action on the House floor, as well as represent the caucus to the minority party while negotiating legislation.
“I’m honored to lead the House Democratic Caucus through one of the most challenging times in our state’s history,” Green said. “I look forward to being a voice not only for my peers in Olympia, but also for my friends and neighbors in the 28th District.”
