Lawmakers to hold public discussion on education
OLYMPIA – Members of the House Education Committee will travel to Davenport, Washington for a roundtable discussion with the public on Wednesday, October 5 at 4:30 p.m.
Amidst challenging economic realities, the legislators will continue discussing issues related to a wide-range of educational topics including dropout prevention, teacher preparation, family involvement and more.
What:
This will be a roundtable discussion on education with legislators and the public. Topics will include the following:
- State Board of Education Proposed Graduation Requirements
- Graduation Requirements and State Testing
- School District Organization: Cooperatives and Shared Services in Rural School Districts

Wednesday, October 5 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.

In addition to the public discussion, House Education Committee members will also tour about a half-dozen Eastern Washington schools while meeting with principals, teachers and students.
