OLYMPIA – State Representative Kathy Haigh (D-Shelton) will be hosting a town hall meeting on Saturday, Feb. 18, to share news about the legislative session and listen to local residents discuss their hopes and concerns on state issues.
In addition to highlighting some of the bills Rep. Haigh is working on this session, she’ll discuss what’s going on with education funding and the House Democratic Caucus jobs plan. Rep. Haigh will also give an update on proposed capital projects in the 35th Legislative district such as the Mason County Transit Center, Seabeck Conference Center, and Veteran’s Memorial Hall.
Rep. Haigh is the chair of the House Education Appropriations and Oversight committee. She also sits on the House Education and Ways and Means committees, the Joint Legislative Audit and Review committee, and the Capital Projects Advisory Review Board.
The town hall will be held from 10 a.m. – noon at the Shelton Civic Center. Participants can submit questions before the meeting via email to Kathy.haigh@leg.wa.gov.
The 2012 session began Jan. 9 and is scheduled to end Mar. 8.
