For his support of policies both pro-growth and progressive, Rep. Habib has been recognized by a new national organization seeking to encourage elected leaders who advocate that two-pronged approach to problem-solving in government.
Habib was selected as one of 12 rising leaders by The NewDEAL, a network whose honorary co-chairs are U.S. Sen. Mark Begich of Alaska and Gov. Martin O’Malley of Maryland.
Habib, a lawyer with Perkins Coie in Seattle who specializes is meeting the legal needs of start-up ventures and entrepreneurs, was elected to the Legislature in 2012. Proposals he sponsored in the 2013 session included House Bill 2052, which would provide tax-incentives to targeted start-ups in high tech and other fields, and House Bill 2023, designed to promote crowdfunding for entrepreneurial ventures.
