The Dream Act was the first House bill passed to the Senate this session — on the very first day of session. Although they initially said they had more important things to do, the Senate majority changed their minds and sent us a similar bill.
Today, the first day we considered Senate bills, the House again chose the Dream Act, making it the first bill to clear both chambers and head to the to the governor.
“When we work together, when we dream together, we can do great things together for our state,” said Rep. Zack Hudgins prime sponsor of the legislation. “The Dream Act is an example of how we can do great things for our state.”
The Governor is expected to sign the bill shortly.
