Listening to you is important to me. That’s why I’m hosting mini town halls once again at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9 and noon on Saturday, June 13. Both will be at Aces Tennis in Renton, 401 Olympia Avenue Northeast.
If you’ve been to a regular town hall meeting, you know it’s hard for everybody to get to ask their questions. Email and the telephone are great, but you lose a lot of nuance when you can’t see a person’s face and hear their voice.
Whenever I talk to somebody, in person, I learn something.
So these mini town halls are crucial to staying in touch with my neighbors, the citizens I represent. It’s about having real conversations with citizens for 15 minutes. A chance to tell me about your questions, comments or ideas to make Washington a better place to live and work.
How to sign up: Please email my legislative aid, Syd Locke, at syd.locke@leg.wa.gov or call the office at 360-786-7862 and we’ll set a time that works for you. If those two dates don’t work for you, I’m happy to find a day and time where we can talk.
If you have a particular issue or topic you want to talk about, please say so and I’ll try to study up on any technical issues to make our time more productive.
Some people won’t be able to make those days and times. If you have things to say but can’t make those dates, please feel free to email me at steve.bergquist@leg.wa.gov. I try to respond to every call, email and letter from a citizen in the 11th District.
It’s an honor and a privilege to serve as your representative, and I hope to see you on June 9 or 13!
