Queen Anne-Magnolia News: State legislators talk budget, education funding over coffee

Tarleton told the group of about 10 residents that there was real progress made in the funding of mental health programs, and strides were made on rebuilding the social safety net, with full funding of the state Food Assistance Program

However, she said the Legislature struggled to sustain funding for early learning, K-12 and higher education.

“We have to work toward stable and predictable funding,” she said.
