What’s Hot in the House: Week 5

Good morning – Tuesday is cutoff for fiscal committees, so expect several hours of public hearings and executive sessions in House Appropriations, Transportation, Capital Budget, and GGIT. Leg.wa.gov will be your best resource for the most up-to-date agenda items.

House floor action will resume on Wednesday. Run lists will be sent each day as soon as they’re finalized. We may see evening and weekend floor action.

Scheduled media events:

  • HDC/SDC leadership media availability – 1:30 p.m. House D caucus room.

ICYMI: The homeless student count is up – again – now over 35,000. As mentioned in Speaker Chopp’s opening day speech, youth homelessness is a moral tragedy that House members are committed to fixing. You can expect our chamber to continue focusing on the real issues that affect the people of Washington, with a particular emphasis on giving the best opportunities to learn for our 1,000,000+ school kids.
