Children’s mental health passes!
I am so proud to say that yesterday, the Senate passed my children’s mental health bill, HB 1713! On the same day, my op-ed on the need for more mental health services for children was published in the Renton Reporter.
HB 1713 is based on the recommendations from the Children’s Mental Health workgroup I chaired over the interim and recognizes the need to serve kids ‘where they are’, whether that is in school or a doctor’s office. Connecting children and their families to mental health services early on can make a significant difference not only in the lives of our state’s children, but in the overall mental health picture in our state.
Learn more about the need for children’s mental health services and what the passage of HB 1713 will mean for our communities in my op-ed in the Renton Reporter.
As always, feel free to share this update and please reach out if you have questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Rep. Tana Senn
