Town Hall this Saturday
Please join your 49th Legislative District delegation, Sen. Annette Cleveland, Rep. Monica Stonier and me this Saturday, May 13th to talk about the legislative session and address your concerns.
Governor signs Bridge Bill
Senate Bill 5806, signed into law by Governor Inslee yesterday, jumpstarts the conversation about replacing the Interstate 5 Bridge over the Columbia River. The new law, which will go into effect on July 23, establishes a Joint Oregon-Washington legislative action committee tasked with beginning the process towards the development for a new bridge. With a $350,000 appropriation, the law directs the Washington Department of Transportation to go through existing data related to the construction of a new bridge.
This bill is a significant step but we’re facing much hard work ahead. My colleagues and I, who worked together on this legislation, will continue reaching out and informing community members as we work to make the prior information available and to begin the process of formally engaging in discussions with Oregon. Many of our business organizations stand ready to participate as well.
We plan to host public forums and to make information widely available to the public.
Hope you can make it to our town hall meeting this weekend!
